The Fields Get Married....FINALLY!

Look at those darling kids...Ian, Kamryn, Kayson, Drew, Luke and Kloe. Julie and Shea FINALLY got married. These two have lived together for YEARS. We have begged Shea to marry her but he just wasn't ready and when he asked her I was so excited - why? Because I have a total crush on him. I always tell him that if she isn't nice - then I will be his girlfriend. But he loves her! Just because I'm 10 years older? They had the wedding in a friend's backyard and it was so beautiful! But NOT as beautiful as Julie! She was gorgeous! Kayson walked her down the aisle and Kamryn was the flower girl. They all stood together as a family and said the vows. I have to hand it to Shea, he walked into an instant family and now I can't wait for them to have babies together!! Julie had already been married she just wanted to run away to Vegas or something, but this is Shea's first and he wanted a real wedding and reception and I think it was a GREAT call! It was so cute to see them all together! He special ordered shoes from Nike and on the back it had the date on one and on the other it said "I DO"...how cute!

Anything Goes....Piano Recital

Because I am a horrible mother - I MAKE my kids take piano. Stockton took from the time he was 8 until he was 15 1/2..he just quit in June when I could see that he was going to be busy doing sports and school. I still have him play hymns so he will be able to when (if) he goes on a mission - that was the deal. So the girls are now taking and they have mixed feelings, Sara likes it and Grace not so much! So I may actually get someone in the family who learns the piano and LOVES it? Please Sara, PLEASE! This recital, all the songs are played in duets. So conveniently my girls were partners. They worked on the piece for a few weeks and they did a GREAT job. I love to see them practice together and they did it with no mistakes! Good job ladies - I am so proud of you!

Sophomores first game...well they look cute?

Stockton's basketball coach at the high school told them - they needed to play football or they needed to run cross country track?? So being the mom that I am...I talked him into football, not because he loves it or is good at it but because selfishly that's what I would rather watch! I bribed him, by letting him quit piano too! He played football for a few years but he hasn't played for 3 or 4 years. He is super skinny, he got his muscles from his mom's side of the family (super weak) and truthfully he HATES to tackle, so that is a problem when playing football. My thought was go and be the kicker - all the years of soccer - he can be the kicker? Well, he is the kicker, punter, he plays corner back or safety and wide receiver! He gets a LOT of playing time! He is still afraid to tackle BUT he wraps up the runners and slows them down and usually someone else is there to help him out! Each week, he gets better and he is starting to like it more. The team isn't very good and so far they had only won 1 game but hopefully he will have a great experience and have fun! He is so funny too. After the first game against Davis, we were at my mom's for Sunday dinner and she said, "Stockton, it was a good game and you did so good." Stockton then repeated every mistake made said how bad the team was...but thanks grandma. We all laughed and she said, "At least you are keeping it real, and hopefully you are having fun!" Stockton has the best perspective on things - yes - he is still competitive but he knows that it is just for fun and that getting a GREAT education is the real focus for him.

How does YOUR garden grow?

It was a busy day! The first day of bowling for the season, Stockton's first football game and then about 8 PM I decided that we should bottle the tomatoes from our garden! So the girls and I picked them and then we all bottled the tomatoes. Each year we plant a salsa garden, tomatoes, onions, peppers (a few different kinds), then we add some squash and a few other things. We love our garden! Brad tills it and the kids keep the weeds down weekly and then all of August and September, we LOVE BLT's. We have BLT Wednesday for as long as we can because that is young mens/young womens night and the girls have dance, so we are busy and we all look forward to reap what we sow! We will be bottling salsa soon :)

New Season of Bowling...and another new team member!?!

Today was the beginning of another bowling season. I have bowled for a few years. Char has been on my team since the beginning, and the first few years Tiffany D. was on our team, then she thought she would get a job?!? so she stopped bowling. Then Lori A. was on our team for a few years and she DID go get a job! So once again we had to find a new team member.....and we SCORED by getting Kristie Miles. I love this girl, she is in Char's ward and she is in my recipe group, I've gone to Lake Powell with her. She is a young beautiful gal! AND she is a good bowler! We are NOW in 6th place and hoping to be in 1st soon! I did get a job BUT I told them I couldn't work on Thursday's, I had bowling and football games! I love setting my own schedule! I had to take a picture of me and my BFF, Angie!
