Boating...oh wait the boat isn't working AGAIN!

We have had the worst luck with the boat this year... First of all, we don't have the time to go. And then when you want to go the boat doesn't work. We took it out on Memorial Day and it worked GREAT. Then it rained and rained and it was sitting out and water got in the engine and it had to be fixed, so we took it in $670 later...We picked it up and Sydnie had planned to take a group of friends to the lake. So we went and it started up and then the alarm went off...something else was wrong! Oh My Heck! Luckily the Call's were there and gave all the kids a ride, but they are starting to get annoyed with us. We pull the boat up and then it doesn't work so we have to scrounge rides from others. It won't be long and the Adams' will want to sale it. Too much money, too little time! We had fun relaxing on the beach and playing in the sand. Its always fun to be with friends and family. The big kids know how to entertain themselves too.

OH HELL YEAH

Tonia, my dear friend, she saw this hat in Idaho on a family trip and thought of me....oh how nice is that? Redneck woman...with a 'Hell Yeah' on the brim. I know I make an impact everywhere I go...Thanks Tonia.

First Day of School for the Girls, Music Camp and a little Zumba!

My poor little girls got NO summer, ok they got 2 weeks. One week we were on Trek and the other week, we were on our road trip. Then they came home and started school...YUCK! Oh well they only go for 3 weeks and they will have time off in August. They started school and Sara's teacher is Mrs. Flitton, she is new and young and I heard she is a great teacher, which that is what I want for Sara. Hopefully she will have some great new ideas to help and encourage Sara. Grace also got a newer teacher, Mrs. Dahlberg, she was excited. She had no friends on her track last year and it was awful, but this year she has a lot of friends on her track but they have a different teacher, but that is OK! After school they went to music camp, for Poole Piano Studio. They got to try their talents in doing a portion of 'Cats' the musical. While they practiced I went to Zumba with some friends, then I went back for the girls performance. It was great, they worked so hard for a 5 minute program, so they did it twice! My girls don't know what the 'lazy days of summer' are...well at least they don't know YET!

Trek 2010

Brad and I had the opportunity to go on Trek again this time. We were first called to be the ward coordinators, and then a few weeks later we were called to be a Ma and Pa. For those of you who don't know what Trek is...It is an experience that we take the youth of our LDS faith to experience. We have them dress and become pioneers for 3 1/2 days in the great land of Wyoming or Utah or where ever. The kids leave their families, the comfort of their homes and all technology and go and push a handcart with a group of 10-12 people that become their family for those days. They work HARD and then they get to play a little, but the most important thing is they learn about faith, hardships, bonding with others, sacrifice, and they learn a lot about themselves and they become closer to the Lord. It is the GREATEST thing EVER! Because Brad and I went on Trek 4 years ago, we became believers in Trek. Stockton went and never questioned it or said it was going to be stupid, I think because he knew his parents LOVED it so much. He did love it too. I saw his competitiveness again. I saw him grow spiritually. I saw him learn to care about others in his family. I saw him serve. I was not disappointed at all.
Brad and I had a great family too. We had the opportunity to have an autistic boy in our family, and we saw the other kids learn to serve and love and take care of him. He would wandered a lot and we thought we lost him once but he was hanging out at the port-a-potties, he didn't like crowds so when EVERYONE was together he would hide or pace far from the crowd. But he loved family time with just our little family. We had a great time and I saw kids lives changed. If you ever have an opportunity to go, I hope you take it.
