Young Women's....I LOVE it there!

When I got my new calling as a Beehive advisor, I was nervous. But it has been so fun getting to know the girls and the ladies I serve with....LOVE IT! Lately we have had some awesome activities, we went to the Nagle's and they lived in Saudi Arabia for 5 years and they showed us some of the things from that area. They served us dinner and showed us some of the things they do in that culture. It was interesting, we show swords, art and cool artifacts from the entire Middle East.

Then the next Sunday, we had New Beginnings, which is to introduce the girls who will be coming into Beehives this upcoming year....and my GRACE will be coming in this year. It doesn't seem possible, but it is true. There will be 4 new girls this year, and they each have older sisters already in young womens so they introduced their sisters, and since I am in the program and Grace has no older sister...I did the introduction. I had to stand up and tell about Grace...I got emotional and cried of course, and I didn't write things down so I forgot to tell a few things, but overall, it was good and I am excited to be in there with Grace and I really can't believe she is going to be 12 this year....

DodgeBall

We played our first session of Dodgeball. I think we won 2 games the entire seasons. Now let me explain the wins, we probably play an average of 8 games each week X 8 weeks= so lets say we played 64 games and won 2! So we aren't the champs of the league, but the referee's love us, they said we would get most congenitally of the league, so we will take that as a compliment. We have fun and laugh, we probably make the other teams laugh. We are not athletes are most of the other teams are...you can tell, they have played, softball, soccer, basketball or volleyball - and not just rec ball, they come in their college outfits and there competitive team gear...so we look ridiculous but its fun...and really THAT IS WHAT LIFE IF ALL ABOUT!

Swap 'til you Drop

I have some very glamorous friends, and Amy D. was asked by her cousin who is a KSL reporter to host a new trend and swap party, Amy agreed and she went ALL out because that is how is rolls. On the evening of the party, we took a few items that we were getting rid of and wrapped them cute, then we put tags on the things we wanted, and swapped 'stuff'. The cameras for Studio 5 were there, and uggghhh, I ran from the camera. It aired on 3/26/10. When Amy throws a party, WOW! she goes all out. Look at the invitations and the decorations?? UNBELIEVABLE! It was so fun. I went with Angie, Tonia and Marla and I forgot to take a picture of us?? Sometimes I am sooooo dumb, but maybe you could find us on Studio 5's video. I ran when they were asking for volunteers to be interviewed but I did walk to the door and my big butt on the camera.

What can I say? I am a health nut....haha

I did my 2nd...count them one...two...5K! The Sweetheart Race. Ok I know that is not that impressive because I have too many friends that are REAL runners, Lori, but for me....that is so good. The goal that Theresa, KyAnn, Pleshette and I had was to do better than the 1st one. And YES we did it, only by a few minutes, but improvement is GOOD! (And to just be there is even better!) I am not a runner, actually I can't due to my chronic illness, sometimes I can barely walk, so I actually surprise myself when I do these official races. I would love to say that I am a runner and do the really hard things, i.e. Ragnar or a 1/2 marathon, but that will never happen, so I will do some 5K's trying to get myself ready to TREK! The first picture shows how health conscience we are, we stop at the store and get Snickers to get us through, we probably don't burn that many calories, but who is counting? Shane, Theresa's husband, ran with us this time...he beat us by 12 + minutes?? It was his first run, but he doesn't brag!

Stockton Entertaining Himself and Others

Stockton, Nikko and some friends decided to get the blow dryer and a ping pong ball and then blow it and then try to catch it in his mouth? Ok so what were the connections with the few items? I HAVE NO IDEA, but he and some friends were entertained for a while and then they went to show the Adams' family? I am sure they could find anything to have a good time with....we will see what is next.

SUPER BOWL!!

No.. he is not that fat, he is sticking out his gut!! NICE...

Every Sunday we go to my mom for a nice Sunday dinner with family. It sometimes gets crazy because there are a lot of us some weeks and LOTS of kids! It is always so fun when the Fickett girls come with their kids, we have so much fun. But Kelly and Lynette went out of town for a softball tournament in St. George, so we got to have the kids at our house it was fun and the kids had fun together. Scott, THE COOK, went to Vegas for work (Yeah right?), and my mom has church until 4. So Brad and I decided we would cook dinner and we were worried about watching the football game in our family room because the TV is in a closet, so we invited ourselves along with my mom and all the kids to watch the game at the Adams'. It sort of stessed Steve out, but we told him NOT to worry. We all ate dinner at our house together and then we went next door to watch the game. We had fun. Sam & Steve were cheering for the Colts and Brock and Stockton were for the Saints. And the rest didn't care...but the game was fun and we had a great day together. Colts won the first half but the Saints won the game!!

They are ALL going to be SNOWBOARDERS!!

This year I talked Sara into trying to snowboard. She was not keen on the idea at first because she was a great skier and she doesn't love to try new things. So I had to do some smooth talking and she and Easton are taking lessons and hopefully she will enjoy it as much as Stockton and Grace. Grace said she was too good and too old for lessons, so she is just going snowboarding while the others take their lessons. She will be REALLY good one day! She loves it. Stockton LOVES to go. He got a pass to Powder Mountain this year and he joined the club at school, and he has gone with friends many times already. This is truly the one thing that Brad is solely in charge of...meaning that we are usually a team on EVERYTHING, but I don't ski or snowboard, so he takes them and they are on their own!! I do love to sit in the lodge and watch, that brings me a lot of joy. Watching them to something that they LOVE. The kids come in and out because they know I am in there too. The first weeks lesson was ROUGH....Sara's pants are not the best and she spent the whole time on her bum...She was WET and COLD. So after the lesson she came in with Brad and I and Stockton & Brock were BRAVE...they took Sam and Easton up on the lift and came down the mountain with them. Easton did GREAT, he got down pretty quickly and I watched him and he did well. Poor Stockton went with Sam, who is quiet a bit younger, and it took him a while to get down the hill...But Sam and his enthusiasm, said "Let's go again" as soon as he hit the bottom. Stockton spoke right up and said, "No way!" It was time to go. I can't wait to watch them improve over the next few weeks. I will be posting pictures and hopefully saying how much Sara LOVES it too!!
