Service, Service, Service

Yes that is a PINK dog!
We had a party at the JARDINE'S! I know weird huh? They are the best! They love to host parties and since Mike was here from Seattle we had a party and guess what we did? SERVICE! Tonia had us broke into teams and family members were separated and we had to take $10 in $1 bills. And then they gave us another $5. We had to go and try to do service for as many strangers as we could in 45 minutes, and the team who did the most with the $15 WON! So I was with all the men- Mike, Brandt, Brennen, Hayden, and Caleb... we went to Smith's and unloaded groceries to people's cars and gathered their carts, they even put someones Christmas tree on top of their car. We bought someone hot chocolate. Then we went to Maverik and pumped gas and then gave 7 strangers a candy bar and then donated the rest of our money to the food bank. Our team served 36 people. Brad's team served 34 people, they went to Wal-mart and gave random people stamps and told them to write a letter to someone they were missing. Grace's team served 8 people, they went into Ogden to see what the rescue mission needed and they went and got hats and gloves to the actual homeless people, not the people in our neighborhood, haha. Stockton's team went to Del-taco and bought as many taco's as they could and gave them away, 27 taco's, I think? Sara was on the winning team, they went to Smith's and bought cookie dough and cooked them and took them around to the neighbors, they served 91 people! The kids loved it, they learned that helping others was fun and we made it a game. I only had the pictures from my group :(

Thanksgiving...oh how I LOVE it!

I am grateful for my family! my home! my health! my friends! So much to be grateful for...I love Thanksgiving. It is one of my favorite holidays because it kicks off the Christmas season. Plus I go to my mom's and Scott Fickett is theeee BEST cook - chef - EVER! He makes everything taste yummy! Actually all of my family was there this year. Usually Kelly and Lynette and their family goes to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving but this year they were home and they are going there for Christmas. After we ate dinner, Brad had to go to work but the rest of us met the Adams' and saw Tangled! We loved it! Then Lori and I planned our black Friday shopping date, that is our tradition! We had a great day and weekend!

Like father like son..

Back in the day, Brad was a CHS Falcon and he played basketball, and he wore #12....and now... Stockton goes to CHS and plays basketball and he wears #12!! How funny is that? Well Stockton went to Ryker's do to some homework and Stockton had just brought his uniform home and he was excited to even get that number, especially being just a sophomore. While he was gone Brad saw the uniform just sitting there and he decided he would put it on...I laughed until I cried. I took a picture with my phone and sent Stockton a text - it was seconds and he was on the phone, laughing and screaming for him to "take it off, old man, you are going to rip and tear it".... I think Brad was thrilled to cause him stress and be in his old number for the Falcon's! We had a green/white game the other night. The sophomore's played the JV team - Stockton did so good, he scored 8 of the 17 points in the half they played even though they lost by 1...dang! Then he was asked to play on the JV team when they played the varsity. He played good and they first half he played with the JV and then...the second half he got to play on the varsity team!! We were happy for him and have been telling him if he works hard it will pay-off and I think he will continue to do that, he was the only sophomore that got that chance!

First Basketball game - Green and White Game

Stockton is now playing basketball for CHS. He is #12 just like his dad was 25 years ago. Tonight they played the green and white game. The sophomores played the JV team. Then JV played the varsity. Stockton did really well in the sophomore game and then when the JV play varsity, he played the 1st half on the JV team....then the 2nd half he got to play with the varsity! Way to go Stockton! Good luck and have fun!

My BabY GirL turNs 12?

Miss Grace is now 12...how does that happen? I guess, just as I get older so do they?!? She is going into young women's and she is so excited. Her birthday fell on the Primary Program and the Primary President told her if she got her Faith in God, she wouldn't have to do the program, and she was pretty much done and she got those last Articles of Faith's done so fast and she was so happy not to have to sing?!? I guess she thinks she is too mature :) She wanted to have an AMAZING RACE party so we did. I have never spent so much time and effort on a party before. I had things planned and things gathered and money in envelops...but it turned out GREAT! Some of the things they had to do were: Make some putts at the golf course, Stockton was at the elementary and had three different things they had to do...hit a baseball, do free throws blind folded and kick a soccer ball into a little net, spin on the chairs at the electric park and race each other, go to Smith's and find the best bargain in the ads for the week, go to the dollar store and buy something they were grateful for and then find and stranger and explain why they were grateful, go to Wal-mart dressed up and ride a bike in the toy aisle. Some one had to pretend to be sick and throw up chewed up broccoli and cream soda, ask a stranger for directions in a foreign accent and many other things. They had fun and I was glad we did it for her. I love her so much! She is an amazing girl and hopefully the teenage years won't be to painful for her dad and I :) Her actual birthday was on Sunday too. So we had family over for cake and ice cream but we had a church meeting so it was a little hectic but it was a GREAT day too!

My hot date with my MAN...

My awesome new boots, I got for my birthday!
Not great pictures, but they were great!

Last year I saw Lady Antebellum in concert when I took the kids to Boise to see Kenny Chesney. And I like them but they were still new and in the last year I have learned more songs and I love them now. They recently came to SL with Tim McGraw, but my husband didn't get me tickets (I was so ticked) so he redeemed himself with ticket at least to Lady A. Next time I won't miss my Tim baby though! I rode the train and met him in SL, we had a great date and went to the concert. It was standing only and I am getting old so that part I didn't love but the venue was cool and we had a great time. I haven't been to a concert with Brad since....1987? Howard Jones...Its been a while!
