You know you've had a great weekend when EVERYONE in the family at some point says, "Mom, this is the best day ever!" Ok Brad didn't call me mom...but at some point they all commented on how much fun this or that was. The 4th of July is definitely a favorite at our house. It was nice to be on a weekend so you could really take some much needed time to be together. Brad hasn't had this holiday off for a few years, so it was great to have him home and enjoy the weekend with ALL of us. Friday we went up to the lake, it was perfect weather. The sun finally came out and no evening storm came - hip hip hooray! There was a slight breeze but otherwise perfect. The lake is so full. We went boating with the Garrett's, Smedley's, Hill's, and the Jardine's. We all fit on the Garrett's boat, well we took turns. The boys wakeboarded and everyone tubed and then we got out the water weinny. Oh my heck, we laughed so hard and had so much fun. We were on the lake for hours then we had a BBQ at the boat club which was fun. We laughed and enjoyed everyone's company. On Saturday we went to not only 1 parade but 2!! I told you we were dorks and loved them. Clearfield first to get the treats and then on to Layton. We had lots of fun with the Adams' at both parades, and the Anderson's, Fickett's, Strong's, Gonzales', Lake's, and the Jones' at the Clearfield parade. Then we went to the Fickett's for a BBQ with all my step sisters. They are so much fun, they are the funniest people when they are all together. Jamie came from Montana and it was great to see her, no pictures :( Then we went to the Smedley's and the kids swam for a couple of hours, then yet another BBQ with the Adams' and the Pratt's. Then to the fireworks. PHEW what a day. Then Sunday, church. Brad and I came home and had a 2 1/2 hour nap, wow we must be getting old. Then lots of friends and neighbors gathered in the front yard for lawn chair time and a small fireworks display, thanks to Sam Adams. It was a great time and such fun memories. I have great family and friends and I couldn't live without them!!
